On June 16, a round table event titled “Ensuring Participation in Addressing Water
Scarcity – Safeguarding the Right to Water in Azerbaijan” took place at Baku Community
Space. This event was jointly organized by “Article 54” PU and the Center for Social
Rights. The event drew students, economists, lawyers, and civil society activists, who
engaged in discussions regarding the pressing issue of water scarcity. These conversations were framed around the document “The Right to Water in Azerbaijan:
State’s Responsibilities,” prepared by lawyer Tural Aghayev. The discussions
encompassed the root causes of water scarcity and explored the participation and
experiences of local communities in resolving environmental challenges.
