On July 11, the first “Community Building” conference was hosted in Baku by Article 54
PU as part of the “Strengthening Citizen Participation and Support to Local
Communities” initiative. The conference agenda encompassed multiple areas, including
the collaboration of civil society organizations towards community development, the
activities of 7 community-based organizations formed with the backing of Article 54 PU,
the assessment document on public participation status in Azerbaijan, and a discussion
on the guide titled “From Goal to Action: Community Building, Community Development,
and Public Advocacy.”
Attended by representatives from community-based organizations, civil society groups,
international organizations, independent experts, and students, the event was organized
at Baku Community Space.
